The social media gives me the creepy impression that the world is full of annoying smartasses who are not able form one direct sentence without soaking it in sarcasm. When you try hard to look intelligent, you don't. Simple as that. Allusions, idioms, puns don't get you a score when all they hide are inconsistent statements, they're not enough to tie loose ends of your neurons. People can tell the difference between clever rhetoric and clumsy babbling, so please, next time, think twice before you stamp your sentence all over with "I'm smart".
